This internship offers a practical exposure to surgical procedures, where participants assist in preparing, operating, and turning over surgical environments. Interns learn the critical aspects of operating room (OR) efficiency, including setting up supplies and equipment, as well as environmental sanitation practices. Challenges include mastering strict protocols for hygiene and safety while managing multiple tasks swiftly and accurately. Collaborative tasks involve working closely with various healthcare professionals, enhancing your understanding of distinct roles within a surgical team. The structure of this role is dynamic, involving both direct observation and participation in surgical processes, and routine cleaning responsibilities. Requirements

  • Postsecondary student enrolled in a Minnesota educational institution OR be a resident of Minnesota enrolled in an out-of-state program.
  • Students graduating in current year are not eligible to participate.
  • Enrolled in a two- or four-year health care degree program with the intention of completing the program.
