This position is responsible for all aspects of development and implementation of the Healthcare Gap Year program. This position is part of the Life Sciences, Health, and Engineering Department at the Roux Institute in Portland, Maine. The Gap Year program (now in its fourth year) is designed to help address the severe health workforce shortage in Maine, and provide opportunities for recent college graduates by making a direct connection between applicants aspiring to careers in healthcare with open entry-level healthcare positions across Maine; supporting participants with continued access to an academic institution, networking, and additional financial resources (when funding allows); and supplying healthcare partners with a pool of talented and highly motivated individuals to fill critical vacancies in entry-level roles (Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, CNA, Phlebotomist, Technicians, etc.).
