About The Position
The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) supports high-quality patient care, monitoring, mobility, communication, and delivery of patient services in a pediatric medical-surgical setting at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network. The HUC serves as a focal point for communication, performs receptionist and communications duties, and collaborates with clinical staff to support care for children and families from diverse ethnic and social groups. The position is 0.7 FTE, with 12-hour day shifts.
Requirements
- Completion of an approved Unit Secretary vocational training course, or current enrollment in a clinical education program, or one year of previous patient care experience, or one year of equivalent clerical experience in a medical setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform receptionist and communications duties.
- Support care delivery and services for patients from diverse ethnic and social groups.
- Use independent decision-making and strong interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and/or RN to support optimal care delivery and patient services.
