About The Position

INTEGRIS Health is hiring a daytime, full-time Health Unit Coordinator/Birth Certificate Clerk at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Mother/Baby in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The position coordinates patient records, patient information, supplies, equipment, and communication. It requires population-specific competencies and adherence to applicable National Patient Safety Goals based on the role’s level of patient contact.

Requirements

Knowledge of medical terminology.
Type at least 20 words per minute.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
Six months of previous unit clerk experience or successful completion of a structured unit clerk curriculum is preferred.
Experience in computerized data entry and/or keyboarding is preferred.
Experience in a customer service role is preferred.

Responsibilities

Answer telephone and intercom promptly and relay information to appropriate personnel.
Provide information and customer service to patients, family members, and visitors.
Assemble and maintain patient medical records from admission through discharge according to prescribed procedures.
Monitor electronic patient medical records, communicate physician orders and test results, and scan patient information into the computer system as needed.
Maintain inventory of patient-chargeable and non-chargeable unit supplies.
Coordinate patient care activities, procedures, and transportation with appropriate personnel.
Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and perform quality assurance checks on office and computer equipment.
May retrieve and transport medications.
