About The Position

The Pennsylvania State University, Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), University Park, has an opening for a Health Services Assistant (Support Level) starting November 2, 2026. The Health Services Assistant is often the first point of contact for our student clients, visitors, and campus partners. In this important role, you will help create a positive and welcoming experience while providing administrative support in a busy counseling office environment. CAPS is seeking someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a collaborative setting, and communicates effectively. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information, and eager to learn new technologies that support student clients' care. This full-time position is based in the Student Health Center and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break. This is a 10-month position (83.3% FTE), with June and July off.

Requirements

  • General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)
  • No prior relevant work experience required
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
