About The Position

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the correct implementation and monitoring of HSE standards, policies, and procedures across company plants, field activities, and projects. This role involves conducting audits and inspections, managing safety equipment and worker PPE, supporting HSE training, and overseeing incident reporting and investigation. The specialist will also ensure compliance with environmental regulations, waste control, and legal requirements, while supporting risk assessments and emergency plans. Additionally, the role requires managing contractor HSQE performance, facilitating communication with stakeholders, and supporting the company's global HSE standards and initiatives to foster a strong HSQE culture. This position plays a key part in monitoring HSE priorities, metrics, and objectives, and supporting the effectiveness of the HSQE Management systems, including those aligned with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of local HS regulations and standards.
  • Experience in a plant, field activities, or projects HSE role.
  • Experience in plant, field activities, or project operations HSE inspections and audits.
  • Microsoft Office Skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong initiative/drive and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
  • Ability to handle numerous, complex issues with differing deadlines.
  • Ability to make people understand and follow HSE rules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with workers, clients, and suppliers.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Full Driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Visit company plants, field activities, and projects ensuring the correct implementation and monitoring compliance with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and HSE measures.
  • Conduct HSE audits/inspections on plants, field activities, and projects.
  • Ensure the correct control of safety equipment and worker's PPE.
  • Support the delivery of HSE training and orientation to ensure correct worker competencies.
  • Ensure correct reporting and incident investigation, support determining corrective or preventative measures, and ensure measures are implemented. Identify incident trends and design methodologies to reduce existing or potential incidents and health hazards.
  • Ensure proper waste control and disposal activities according to local legislation.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and environmental legal requirements and other requirements relevant to company plants, field activities, and projects.
  • Support in assessing company activities' risks and implementing relevant safety measures and emergency plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSQE client's requirements to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Assessment and monitoring of contractors' HSQE performance and compliance.
  • Create correct communication channels with interested parties to manage HSE matters, including communication with workers, managers, directors, clients, contractors, suppliers, and others.
  • Support the company's global HSE standards, programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Support HSE initiatives, plans, and actions to promote and create a high-standard HSQE culture.
  • Support monitoring HSE priorities, metrics, objectives, and requirements.
  • Support the check of the effectiveness of the Management System, identify Non-conformities and improvement opportunities, and propose actions to attain company objectives.
  • Support developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the HSQE Management systems following ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 requirements.
  • Support in the management and coordination of environmental data collection and assessment related to company activities.
