About The Position
This is a 1.0 FTE position located at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Program. The role requires the ability to communicate and work effectively with the principal, staff, and parents, and to collaborate as a team member with special education and general education staff. The position demands excellent interpersonal skills, a willingness to compromise, good initiative, flexibility, dependability, and strong organizational and classroom management skills. A strong sense of professionalism is essential. The teacher will be the educational leader for the adaptive health and physical education program.
Requirements
- Experience working with students who have cognitive disabilities.
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Health and PE endorsement.
- Lifeguard certification.
