T26/27 ART TEACHER (Jamestown)
About The Position
This position is a 0.6 Art Teacher at Jamestown Elementary School. The role requires an individual with teaching experience in art, knowledge of best instructional practices, and the ability to integrate technology. Experience in educational and instructional leadership is also valued. The teacher will be responsible for preparing art students for various opportunities, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and maintaining the Visual Arts website. The position also involves working with the fine arts team, supporting theater productions, and participating in various art shows and meetings. Maintaining safety standards in art rooms and staying current with arts-related technology are key aspects of the role. Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule.
Requirements
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure
- Must be endorsed in Visual Arts
- Teaching experience in the above mentioned area
- Knowledge of best instructional practices
- Ability to integrate technology
- Experience in educational and instructional leadership
- Must be team oriented and able to work cohesively with others
- Must be organized with excellent written and oral communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area
- Dual endorsed preferred
- Bilingual skills preferred
Responsibilities
- Ability to work as part of a team

- Prepare art students for in school, and outside opportunities
- Provide effective communications between and among school staff, Arts Education Supervisor, students, parents and community
- Work effectively with fine arts team and theater productions
- Effectively maintain Visual arts website
- Provide outreach opportunities to grow quality program
- Meet timelines
- Maintain safety standards and best practices in art rooms
- Stay current with arts related technology and best practices
- Participate in Scholastics, Ed. Center gallery, and Spring art shows
- Attend County Wide Monthly Arts Education meetings as scheduled
