About The Position

Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine is a comprehensive inpatient behavioral health facility providing acute behavioral health care and outpatient treatment to adults and geriatric adults in crisis from severe symptoms related to behavioral health and/or substance use disorder. This role is for a certified Health Information professional ready to lead and make an impact, playing a vital role in maintaining accurate, secure, and compliant patient medical records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• RHIT, CCA, or CCS certification required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s in Health Information Administration preferred
• 2+ years supervising a medical records department preferred
• 1+ year behavioral health experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all Health Information Management (HIM) services
• Ensure medical records meet federal, state, and facility guidelines
• Audit records for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Maintain strict confidentiality and data security
• Supervise, train, and support medical records staff
• Oversee ICD & CPT coding processes as needed
