About The Position

Iberia Medical Center is hiring a full-time Health Information Management (HIM) Inpatient Analyst in New Iberia, Louisiana. Under the direction of the Health Information Services Supervisor, the analyst works with discharged inpatient records, including quantitative analysis. The role requires strong mathematical skills and an understanding of hospital statistic rules to support accurate collection and submission of hospital statistics. The HIM Inpatient Analyst also uses communication, initiative, and judgment to assist with prioritizing HIM tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong mathematical skills and understanding of hospital statistic rules.
Strong communication skills, initiative, and judgment.

Nice To Haves

Medical transcription schooling.
Experience in medical records, transcription, or a medical office.

Responsibilities

Analyze inpatient charts in the EHR according to guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Process and analyze inpatient behavioral health discharges.
Scan and rename files in the EHR to ensure accessibility for remote coding.
Monitor remaining transcription documents from the contracted service to ensure they are uploaded into the EHR.
Report physician compliance to the HIM Supervisor.
Complete daily statistics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
