About The Position

Responsible for the addition and removal of data in the Electronic Health Record information systems software ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the patient health records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum one (1) year experience maintaining a major Electronic Health Record information system and/or 30 hours of college courses in Health Information management
• Experience in a healthcare industry
• Must have good attention to detail

Nice To Haves

• Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
• Knowledge of reporting requirements for governmental, public, private and foundation grants/awards

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of EHR file and chart maintenance to include new patient setup into EHR software and related applications.
• Releases protected health information, in compliance with CommuniCare policies and procedures and related state and federal regulations. Maintains patient confidence and protects CommuniCare operations by keeping information confidential.
• Assists in the proactive monitoring of EHR charts, applications, and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and integrity of data.
• Provides assistance to staff with EHR chart maintenance issues.
• Assists in providing support and guidance to CommuniCare staff and patients as it pertains to questions regarding patients’ medical records.
• Always demonstrates a service-oriented mindset by providing excellent internal/external customer service. Develops and maintains good interdepartmental relationships and partnerships.
• Assists in the periodic medical chart audit and review.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
