This is a professional position responsible for initiating and coordinating tobacco prevention and cessation programs that support 4 goal areas set forth by the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida: (1) Preventing Initiation Among Youth and Young Adults; (2) Eliminate Secondhand Smoke Exposure and (3) Promote Cessation from Tobacco Use. (4) Maintain an Infrastructure that Supports a Standalone County Tobacco-Free Partnership and SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco). This position requires the ability to work both independently and under the direction of the Community Program Manager as well as to work with youth, young adults and adults. The incumbent will be communicating with persons outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. Information related to the program may need to be exchanged face-to-face, in writing, or via telephone/electronic transfer. At times, this job requires lifting and organizing heavy materials. The incumbent must also have a working knowledge of computers and Word processing skills. This position requires travel and some weekend and evening hours. This is a tobacco-free position.
