About The Position

The professional in this position manages the Brazen Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) program and provides SRA Education to Florida Department of Health clients and residents of Marion County. The duties and responsibilities of this position include managing and leading the Health Educators within the Brazen sexual risk avoidance program to provide services throughout Marion County. This is a grant funded position if funding is discontinued this position may be eliminated.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques including design, principles, group and individual teaching techniques, design of individual development plans.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health education.

  • Knowledge and understanding of agency policies, processes, procedures, mission, vision, and values.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of sexual risk avoidance and approved curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Brazen Sexual Risk Avoidance program. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating program implementation, assisting in staff training and managing program mandates (including program monitoring and evaluation).
  • Assisting in selection of new staff, developing performance plans, and responsible for planning and directing their daily work schedule.
  • Provides SRA Education to Marion County to the grant required number of youth and adults at various locations.
  • Develop adult presentations and work with parents and concerned adults and will seek out opportunities to educate adults related to how they may provide SRA education to their children and county youth.
  • Secure venues to conduct programming.
  • Provides reports by designated due dates.
  • Responsible for coordinating and submitting monthly reports to contract manager.
  • Manage and supervise the planning, coordination, and implementation special events that promote sexual risk avoidance education to county youth and adults.
  • Work with and coordinate these events with community and corporate partners.
  • Promotes youth health and addresses related youth risk factors by actively participating in community coalitions/councils/meetings/events, disseminate information to health education staff/program coordinators and supervisor.
  • Assist in SRA classroom presentations as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
  • During an emergency the incumbent is responsible for monitoring and assisting the evacuation of employees and clients in assigned areas listed in the Emergency Code Procedure Manual Evacuation Procedure Standard Operating Procedure. This includes directing co-workers and customers, checking rooms, and assuring doors are closed as they exit.
