About The Position

The Health Care Technician II is responsible for supervising and guiding direct care staff in the absence of the Health Care Supervisor I (DS I). This role focuses on ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of assigned individuals while supporting the implementation of their habilitation and training plans. Duties include assisting with personal care, daily living skills, socialization, leisure activities, and maintaining safety. The technician also helps in classroom and training settings, provides transportation to appointments and activities, and shops with or for individuals as needed. Additional responsibilities include administering emergency care for incidents such as seizures or accidents, performing specified housekeeping tasks, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis (6-8 times daily).
  • Ability to stoop, bend, walk, run short distances (50 yards) and climb stairs without limitations of a permanent nature.
  • Must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

  • Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • Listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
