About The Position

The Agency of Human Services (AHS) Central Office is seeking a dynamic and experienced Health Care Project Director to lead high-impact initiatives under the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program. This position provides senior-level leadership in project management, program development, and policy implementation to advance innovative, federally funded health system transformation efforts across Vermont. The role requires strong collaboration across AHS departments, providers, and community partners to ensure effective implementation and compliance with federal requirements. All AHS employees are expected to demonstrate four core practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships, and results orientation.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years or more of experience in public administration, finance, accounting, or health care INCLUDING experience as a project manager or administrator in a health/human services program/organization or related organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in public health (MPH), public administration (MPA), or related field
  • Experience working with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or Medicaid programs
  • Strong knowledge of rural health systems and transformation initiatives
  • Experience with grants management, budgeting, and contract oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret and implement federal regulations and policy
