About The Position

9fin is hiring a Head of Strategic Accounts, US to lead the top tier of its commercial organization: the largest and most complex accounts driving the company’s growth. The Strategics segment serves major accounts across global banks, top-tier law firms, multi-strategy hedge funds, asset managers, and private equity firms. The role will build and lead a New York team of approximately 5–6 senior relationship managers, each responsible for a small portfolio of strategic accounts in a hybrid account management and enterprise sales capacity. The Head will partner with the Head of Strategic Accounts, EMEA to coordinate the segment globally and work with senior Customer Success partners at the account level. This is a builder role for a leader with personal quota-carrying experience, enterprise sales experience in financial services, and expertise in rigorous, multi-year deal execution. The position requires three days in the NYC office. Responsibilities include leading the team to forecastable performance across a book of $5M+ ARR accounts, coaching strategic account managers, driving renewals and enterprise agreements, establishing the team’s operating cadence and sales methodology, collaborating across commercial and product teams, and representing 9fin with senior clients and the broader debt markets community.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience.
  • 4+ years leading strategic or enterprise sales teams selling into financial services, law firms, or a mix of these sectors.
  • Personal experience carrying and consistently exceeding a large individual quota on multi-million-dollar strategic accounts.
  • Ability to demonstrate specific strategic accounts grown and explain how they were developed.
  • Consultative selling approach and interest in becoming a strategic partner to clients.
  • Deep familiarity with capital markets, credit, or the debt markets ecosystem, including credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, distressed, and private credit.
  • Experience leading teams through multi-year deal execution, year-over-year uplifts, early renewals, and complex enterprise agreements.
  • Ability to coach representatives through procurement, MSA negotiation, legal review, and executive alignment.
  • C-suite presence and credibility with both teams and customers.
  • Proactive coaching approach, including sharing processes, mentoring representatives, and planning deals in advance.
  • Experience running disciplined operating cadences, including weekly deal reviews, forecast rigor, territory and account planning, and a shared deal methodology.
  • Commercial sharpness and operational rigor, with the ability to represent client needs to Product and Engineering.
  • Ability to build trust across a matrixed organization and partner with Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Enablement, Rev Ops, Marketing, and Product.
  • Ability to drive accountability through high standards and presence without burning out the team.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambitious, fast-moving environment with high expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the US Strategics team to consistent, forecastable quarter-over-quarter delivery across a book of $5M+ ARR accounts.
  • Coach and manage approximately 5–6 Strategic Account Managers covering major US banks, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, and law firms.
  • Drive multi-year deal execution, secure early renewals, and structure durable enterprise agreements.
  • Coach the team through complex commercial motions, including MSAs, procurement, legal review, and executive alignment.
  • Run weekly segment reviews focused on deal progress, at-risk deals, pipeline health, and account-level path-to-close plans.
  • Set the segment’s operating cadence, enforce the three-day office minimum, and drive territory planning, account mapping, and a shared deal methodology.
  • Partner with the EMEA Head of Strategic Accounts to coordinate geographic coverage and support global accounts across regions.
  • Work in a two-in-the-box model with senior Customer Success partners and Sales Engineering, and collaborate with Enablement, Rev Ops, Marketing, and Product to remove barriers to growth.
  • Represent strategic clients’ needs to Product and Engineering by translating segment-level themes across credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, distressed, and private credit into roadmap input.
  • Represent 9fin externally with C-suite clients at offsites, executive briefings, industry conferences, and roundtables.
  • Build scalable operating frameworks for the Strategics segment, including deal reviews, path-to-close proposals, territory planning, and account planning.
