Head of Sales

ChipAgentsSan Jose, CA
$200,000 - $450,000Onsite

About The Position

ChipAgents is the category leader in agentic AI for the semiconductor industry. Our platform transforms specifications and code into production-ready RTL, verification assets, and automated root-cause analysis, compressing design and verification cycles that have historically been slow, costly, and labor-intensive. We are venture-backed by Matter Venture Partners (TSMC-backed), Bessemer Venture Partners, Micron, MediaTek, and Ericsson, having raised over $130M to date. Our advisory board includes some of the most distinguished veterans in EDA, including former leaders from Mentor Graphics (Siemens EDA), Synopsys, and Cadence. We are deployed across roughly 80 leading semiconductor companies, hold multi-year, multi-million-dollar licensing agreements, and have grown ARR rapidly while scaling the team out of our new Silicon Valley headquarters. We are now hiring our Head of Sales to build the go-to-market engine that takes us on the path toward $1B in annual revenue.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in enterprise sales with a substantial track record in semiconductor and/or EDA and/or AI B2B sales — you understand RTL design, verification, and the realities of how chip design teams buy and adopt tools.
  • Demonstrated success closing large, complex, multi-year enterprise deals (seven figures and up) into semiconductor, fabless, IDM, or systems companies.
  • Experience selling technical/engineering tooling to highly sophisticated buyers (VPs of Engineering, CTOs, design and verification leads) — credibility with this audience is non-negotiable.
  • A history of building and scaling sales organizations, not just carrying a bag: hiring, comp design, process, forecasting, and team leadership.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-growth startup where you build the playbook rather than inherit it.
  • Strong grasp of the EDA competitive and partner landscape (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens EDA, foundries, IP vendors).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience selling AI, automation, or developer/engineering productivity tooling.
  • An existing network of senior relationships across the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience taking a company through significant ARR inflection points (e.g., from early traction toward $100M+ and beyond).
  • A genuine point of view on how AI is reshaping chip design and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Own the revenue number. Set and deliver against ambitious ARR targets, with a multi-year plan that charts a credible path toward $1B in annual revenue.
  • Close the flagship deals personally. Lead complex, consultative, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles with design and verification leaders, procurement, and the C-suite at major semiconductor and systems companies.
  • Build the go-to-market motion. Define ICP, segmentation, pricing and packaging (including consumption/seat/licensing models), sales process, and forecasting discipline from first principles.
  • Hire and lead the team. Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class team of enterprise AEs, sales engineers, and sales leadership; install the culture, cadence, and accountability of a top-performing org.
  • Land and expand. Convert pilots and deployments across our installed base into multi-year, multi-million-dollar enterprise agreements, and drive net revenue retention through expansion.
  • Partner cross-functionally. Work hand-in-glove with Product, Engineering, and the founder to translate customer signal into roadmap, and with Marketing to build demand in a technical, credibility-driven market.
  • Build the ecosystem. Develop relationships and channel/partner strategy across foundries, IP vendors, EDA incumbents, and design-services partners.
  • Be the voice of the market. Bring rigorous, data-driven insight on the semiconductor and EDA buyer back into the company to sharpen positioning and competitive strategy.

Benefits

  • $200K/yr – $450K/yr (plus uncapped commission) + Offers Equity. We are open to discuss above-scale compensation with exceptional candidates on a case-by-case basis.
  • Unlimited PTO and full benefits (medical, vision, dental, 401k).
  • Two engineering-centric offices with free parking, private gym, and free lunch, drinks and snacks.
