About The Position

The Head of Production is the most senior level of floor leadership at the assigned facility. This role ensures tactical and strategic plans are developed and executed, oversees production programs consistently, and drives efficient assembly methods aligned with program schedules. The position owns production-floor personnel and activities, establishes the floor’s culture, identifies and closes process gaps, and leads improvements to production processes. The Head of Production provides guidance and mentorship to Production Managers I, II, and III; coordinates workforce needs with the BVA lead; monitors adherence to QA/QC processes; collaborates with program general foremen and program management teams on schedules, customer needs, and timelines; and works with the Safety Team to promote safe manufacturing practices. The role also supports alignment between product design and efficient production methods and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires knowledge of the construction and electrical industries, extensive electrical field experience as a licensed electrician, and substantial experience in field or industrialized construction and/or manufacturing. Travel is up to 10%.

Requirements

Knowledge of the construction and electrical industries.
Ability to oversee technical programs, supervise site and staff as required, and serve as the technical subject matter expert for the production facility while maintaining transparent customer relations.
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees at all levels, vendors, clients, and others.
At least 18 years of field electrical experience as a licensed electrician.
At least 20 years of field/industrialized construction and/or manufacturing industry experience; a combination of these areas is acceptable.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Experience with Oracle.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute organizational initiatives to oversee and manage production programs consistently across the team.
Create and drive the production-floor strategic plan, ensuring assembly methods are efficient and aligned with program schedules.
Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, both upstream and downstream.
Drive strong results from Production Managers and their programs.
Take ownership of production-floor personnel and activities and establish the floor’s culture.
Identify process gaps and create or delegate plans to address them in a timely manner.
Develop and execute significant improvements to production processes.
Coordinate with the Director of Product Development so product designs support efficient production methods.
Provide guidance and direction to Production Managers I, II, and III.
Coordinate with the BVA lead to align manpower with production scheduling demand.
Oversee and monitor adherence to QA/QC processes.
Collaborate with the program GF to create and maintain production schedules.
Maintain alignment with program management teams regarding customer needs and timelines.
Promote a strong safety culture in collaboration with the Safety Team.
Mentor and support Production Managers I, II, and III with advanced technical knowledge and leadership development.
