Head of Product

NorthbeamSan Francisco, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

Northbeam is seeking a senior product leader to partner directly with the Chief Product & Design Officer and CEO in shaping the future of Northbeam. This is one of the most senior product roles in the company, responsible for owning the company roadmap, leading key product initiatives from concept to execution, and managing a team of senior product managers. The role is a player-coach position, emphasizing hands-on execution and driving major projects, including writing specifications, customer interaction, problem-solving with engineering and data science, and collaborating with design. The company is experiencing rapid growth and is looking for individuals who can generate momentum in a fast-paced environment. Northbeam is a design-led, customer-first organization where Product and Design work together to deeply understand customer problems and create exceptional user experiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product management, with senior leadership experience at a B2B SaaS company, operating at Director level or above and managing senior PMs.
  • Experience working in marketing measurement, attribution, adtech or martech.
  • Experience working within eCommerce if you know how marketing attribution works, including MTA, MMM, incrementality, pixel and server-side tracking, platform APIs, and privacy constraints, and can hold your own with both data scientists and performance marketers.
  • A track record on data-heavy products, having shipped products built on large-scale data pipelines, analytics, or ML models, and comfortable making product decisions involving statistical nuance and data quality tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated experience building with AI, having shipped AI-powered product capabilities (LLM features, agents, ML-driven workflows) and possessing a strong, practical point of view on where AI creates durable value.
  • A driver's mentality: default to action, push relentlessly toward solutions, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where the roadmap moves in weeks, not quarters.
  • Ambiguity energizes you.
  • A hands-on builder who prefers to write the doc, run the customer call, and dig into the data themselves rather than delegate interesting problems; leads projects, not just people.
  • A first-principles problem solver who breaks down hard, messy problems, forms a hypothesis, and tests their way to answers.
  • Customer obsession: builds conviction from direct customer contact, not secondhand summaries, and enjoys working directly with clients to understand and deliver on their needs.
  • Experience partnering closely with design, having worked shoulder-to-shoulder with designers and design leadership, believing great product experiences are built with design, not handed off to it.
  • BS degree required; an engineering, computer science, or data science background is strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at an analytics company
  • Experience working in or selling to ecommerce / DTC and performance marketing teams

Responsibilities

  • Own the company roadmap, synthesizing customer needs, market dynamics, data science capabilities, and company strategy into a clear, prioritized roadmap, and be accountable for delivering it.
  • Lead flagship initiatives end-to-end, taking ambitious product bets from ambiguous concept to shipped, adopted product.
  • Work directly with customers through calls, onsites, and betas to understand their measurement problems firsthand and translate that understanding into product decisions.
  • Drive AI into the core of the product, championing how AI reshapes marketing measurement and shipping AI capabilities that create real customer value.
  • Manage and elevate a small team of very senior PMs, setting a high bar, giving sharp feedback, and creating conditions for them to do their best work.
  • Partner deeply with design leadership to ensure shipped products are not only powerful but also great to use.
  • Own product quality by defining and running the user acceptance testing process for all shipped products.
  • Run rigorous product development sprints, setting processes for scoping MVPs, prioritizing stories, defining roll-out plans, and testing before launch.
  • Equip go-to-market teams by owning the relationship with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, providing playbooks, messaging, release details, and troubleshooting support.
  • Collaborate across the company with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, and Customer Success to align the organization behind the roadmap and ensure honest execution.
