Head of Product

AdvancedMDSouth Jordan, UT
Hybrid

About The Position

AdvancedMD is seeking an experienced Head of Product, Patient Experience to define and drive our patient-facing product portfolio end to end. In this role, you'll provide both strategic and hands-on leadership — running discovery personally, building outcome-based roadmaps, and leading a small, senior TPM/UX team day to day rather than through layers of process. You'll play a pivotal role in owning the idea-to-ship lifecycle for Patient Experience, Patient Payment, Online Scheduling, and Rooming and Scheduling — from discovery and problem framing through implementation-ready requirements handed to engineering. Partnering closely with Engineering leadership, Product Marketing, and the broader AMD organization, you'll ensure the portfolio stays aligned to the AMD Current / AMD Cash-Pay / AMD Reinvented strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, outcomes-driven team where your expertise in consumer/B2C product practice, journey orchestration, and empowered product team discipline will have a direct impact on patients, clients, and internal stakeholders. If you're a player-coach leader who thrives on evidence-based prioritization and solving complex patient-experience problems personally, we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Background in retail, B2C, or patient/consumer experience software, having built product for high-volume, consumer-facing workflows rather than internal tools only
  • Extensive, hands-on experience in journey mapping, client discovery, and patient-experience workflow orchestration
  • Fluency in AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, Devin, etc.) and strong engineering concepts; past engineering background preferred
  • Prior experience delivering patient journey orchestrators, coordinated communication orchestration, and voice-AI-based call center experience is required
  • Deep, practiced fluency in Marty Cagan / empowered product team principles — product discovery, the four risks (value, usability, feasibility, business viability), and product vs. project team dynamics
  • Track record leading a small TPM/UX team directly, with a strong personal hand in discovery and requirements rather than a delegate-and-review style
  • Hands-on experience with client discovery, writing Epics, managing portfolio P&L, and owning cost-to-revenue optimization
  • Past hands-on background in Data Science, Data Engineering, or Analytics preferred — comfortable working directly with data to validate opportunities and define KPIs, not just consuming dashboards
  • Must clear the CCAT exam
  • Ability to build and defend outcomes-based roadmaps and defend prioritization decisions with evidence

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-On Discovery & Execution – Personally runs discovery conversations and writes requirements rather than only directing others to do so
  • Evidence-Based Prioritization – Comfortable saying no to stakeholders and defending roadmap decisions with data, in the Cagan/Doshi tradition
  • Team Leadership by Example – Leads a small team by working alongside them day to day, not by adding process layers
  • Technical & AI Fluency – Deep understanding of LLM models, AWS, engineering, and architecture, plus fluency with AI-assisted development tools
  • Cross-Functional Partnership – Skilled at partnering with Engineering, Product Marketing, and executive stakeholders to keep the portfolio aligned to company strategy

Responsibilities

  • Own product strategy, execution, and roadmap prioritization for the Patient Experience portfolio
  • Lead PM and UX teams accountable for patient experience, patient payment, cashpay, and SMB business experience product lines
  • Own the entire idea-to-ship lifecycle — from discovery and problem framing through implementation-ready requirements — across Patient Experience, Patient Payment, Online Scheduling, and Rooming and Scheduling
  • Build outcomes-based roadmaps organized around business and customer outcomes, not feature lists, with clear KPI ownership per initiative
  • Drive KPI-driven feature selection, using data and evidence rather than opinion to decide what gets built and in what order
  • Hire, coach, and work alongside a small, senior TPM/UX team day to day, rather than delegating and checking in
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing on positioning, launch readiness, and go-to-market sequencing for Patient Experience releases
  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership (including the VP, AI/Software Engineering — Patient Experience) and the broader AMD organization to keep the portfolio aligned to company strategy

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and total rewards benefits
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with generous company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Hybrid and remote work opportunities
  • Career growth and development support
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture
