Head of Product

ChariotNew York City, NY
Hybrid

About The Position

Chariot is at an inflection point with three product lines (DAFpay, Gift Processing, Disbursements), over $1.8B in annualized payment volume, and a product function that has been founder-led to date. The Head of Product will own the product function at the highest level, including the company-visible roadmap, prioritization across surfaces, product analytics, process, and team structure. This role involves building the roadmapping and metrics discipline the company runs on, and growing and leading the PM team. While it is a leadership role, it also requires staying hands-on: being close to customers and the product, personally owning the most important problem statements, and ensuring all product areas fit together cohesively.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in product.
  • Experience leading and growing product teams, as a product leader or founder.
  • Experience scaling a company from Series A to Series D or beyond (or equivalent: grew through hypergrowth, e.g., 30 → 300 people).
  • Experience from an excellent company with a genuinely high product bar.
  • Still an operator: ability to personally scope, spec, and ship.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, bringing structure and process to a fast-moving team without ceremony.
  • Technically credible: understanding of what it takes to build things and ability to hold your own with strong engineers.
  • Must be based in NYC and willing to work in the office Monday-Thursday.

Nice To Haves

  • Fintech / payments / money-movement product experience.
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector or philanthropy.

Responsibilities

  • Work with co-founders to clarify, execute, and measure progress towards product strategy and vision.
  • Decide where product should head and ensure every surface's work adds up to one coherent story.
  • Stand up the roadmapping function, creating a living, company-visible roadmap with monthly cycle planning.
  • Define product metrics and forecasting, ensuring every problem statement has associated metrics and trusted forecasts.
  • Personally own top-level problem statements, staying in the work by scoping, specifying, and shipping alongside the team.
  • Make the PM team successful by ensuring they solve the right problems and deliver, and by raising PM-to-eng leverage towards a 1 PM : 2 engineers ratio.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare, including options that are 100% covered by Chariot for you.
  • 18 days PTO and 13 holidays.
  • 100% paid parental leave, including 12 weeks for primary caregivers.
  • Weekly team lunches.
  • Free dinner every day at the office past 8pm.
  • Monthly team building events.
  • Employee-friendly equity with a 2-year exercise window and double-trigger acceleration.
  • Company retreats 2-3 times per year.
  • Matching DAFs and daily charitable giving through GoodToday.
