  • Experience designing efficient procurement systems as well as negotiating important contracts.
  • Bias toward speed and simplicity, with the judgment to apply scrutiny proportionately to risk.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to build procurement playbooks independently.
  • Ability to achieve sound deal economics while preserving important vendor relationships.
  • Principled, well-developed views on effective review-routing frameworks and vendor evaluation methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor without close oversight or a team.

  • Create a clear, consolidated view of company-wide vendor spending.
  • Tune and administer the existing procurement tool, and evaluate replacement options as the tool approaches renewal.
  • Lead negotiation and contract structuring for the largest and most complex vendor relationships, either directly or in partnership with the business leader who owns the relationship.
  • Equip business leaders with tools and guardrails to manage vendor relationships themselves when appropriate.
  • Partner with IT, Legal, Security, and Finance to design the escalation process and ensure it is working as intended.
  • Identify which vendor relationships, negotiations, and process gaps warrant additional attention.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity.

  • Unlimited paid time off, with four weeks recommended per year.
  • Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US; Ashby plans to expand this to employees in other countries as situations arise.
  • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget.
  • $100 per month education budget; more expensive items such as conferences may be covered with manager approval.
  • For US employees, health insurance for the employee and dependents with all premiums covered by Ashby.
