Head of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement

Suno•Boston, MA
•$200,000 - $275,000•Onsite

About The Position

Suno is hiring its first Head of Strategic Sourcing to improve purchasing terms and ensure the company partners with the right vendors. This hands-on role serves as a strategic partner to teams across Suno, advising on technology strategy and leading negotiations for non-headcount spending, including cloud, inference, and software. The role also builds systems for managing vendor relationships, commitments, renewals, and risk. The Head of Strategic Sourcing will partner closely with Legal, Finance, Security/IT, and business teams to balance speed with appropriate review, secure favorable pricing and terms, and create a clear, effective approach to managing spend. The position requires working onsite at one of Suno’s offices. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and/or FinOps, ideally at high-growth technology companies.
  • Experience negotiating directly with cloud providers and security or monitoring software, with demonstrated cost savings.
  • Ability to partner with varied internal stakeholders, diagnose service over-provisioning with engineering teams, and identify important legal terms in order forms and MSAs.
  • A history of successfully deploying sourcing systems that improve collaboration and provide clarity on spend and usage.
  • Collaboration, curiosity, and creativity; willingness to rethink sourcing and spend practices rather than simply follow an established process.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a fast pace, a bias toward action over perfection, and use of AI to empower oneself and others.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with inference providers.
  • Experience setting and managing budgets for office management and real estate buildouts.
  • Experience at both scrappy startups and scaled organizations, and ability to make stage-appropriate decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Experience building and maintaining AI-powered sourcing tools and playbooks for redlining, negotiation preparation, benchmarking, and vendor reporting.
  • Experience with IPO readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Suno’s business teams to define sourcing strategy, identify key vendors and tooling gaps, and uncover duplicated or unused tools.
  • Partner with teams to forecast demand, understand technical requirements, evaluate suppliers, and use company growth to improve sourcing leverage.
  • Personally negotiate with major vendors and provide company-wide tools and techniques for managing spend.
  • Create intake and vendor contract systems to triage new-vendor requests, manage commitments, and surface renewals based on spend, risk exposure, and usage.
  • Partner with Security/IT and Legal to ensure relevant vendors receive security and legal term reviews.

Benefits

  • Company equity package
  • 401(k) with 3% employer match and Roth 401(k)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with PPO, HSA, and FSA options
  • 11 paid holidays
  • Unlimited PTO and sick time
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Creative education stipend
  • Generous commuter allowance
  • In-office lunch five days per week
