About The Position

Puppy Sphere is a high-growth startup in the wellness category, specializing in puppy therapy. As North America’s original puppy yoga company, they have built a community of over 400,000 people and partnered with global brands like the NBA, TikTok, and Google. They are looking for individuals excited by growth, impact, and who care deeply about people, animals, and raising the bar. This is a full-time remote role based in Toronto. The Head of Performance Marketing will own the revenue engine, including paid media, promotional campaigns, lifecycle marketing, e-commerce, and the associated data infrastructure. This role involves leading a team of four and an external agency, with accountability for turning marketing spend into measurable business results. The position sits alongside the Head of Brand & Content as a peer, collaborating to build the growth engine for the brand.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in performance marketing or growth - ideally in DTC, e-commerce, fitness, or marketplace environments.
  • Proven experience managing a team - you know how to develop people, set clear expectations, and hold them accountable.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Google Ads - you've managed meaningful budgets and know what good looks like.
  • Strong Shopify and funnel analytics experience - you know where bookings are lost and how to fix it.
  • Comfortable building dashboards and presenting financial performance to senior leadership - data is your default language.
  • Experience managing external agencies and holding them to clear performance standards.
  • Proficiency with Klaviyo or a comparable lifecycle and email platform.
  • A collaborative peer mindset - you work closely with brand and creative teams and know great performance needs great creative.
  • Thrives in fast-moving startup environments with high accountability and low ambiguity.
  • Comfortable managing across technical, creative, and CX functions - you lead a diverse team, not a single-discipline pod.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and coach direct reports, and manage agency relationships.
  • Set individual objectives, provide regular feedback, and build a high-accountability team culture.
  • Identify gaps in team capacity and make recommendations on hiring or restructuring as the business scales.
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments.
  • Build and own the marketing performance dashboard, the single source of truth for the team and leadership.
  • Own CAC, ROAS, and LTV reporting across all paid channels.
  • Lead spend forecasting and budget allocation with clear financial rationale.
  • Establish a reporting cadence and present insights to the CEO regularly.
  • Identify trends early and make data-backed recommendations on reallocation and prioritization.
  • Own paid acquisition strategy across Meta, TikTok, and Google.
  • Set channel strategy, budget allocation, and performance targets.
  • Align spend with class inventory, seasonality, city launches, and promotional calendars.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Brand & Content on creative direction and testing.
  • Own the booking funnel from ad click to confirmed class, in close partnership with the Tech Manager.
  • Lead CRO strategy across landing pages, checkout, mobile UX, and promotional execution.
  • Oversee loyalty products including class packs, memberships.
  • Drive funnel analytics and identify drop-off points and revenue opportunities.
  • Own the full customer lifecycle with a focus on increasing visit frequency and habit-building.
  • Oversee the Email & Retention agency on Klaviyo flows, segmentation, winbacks, loyalty, and SMS.
  • Guide the CX Manager on retention initiatives and community touchpoints that drive repeat behaviour.
  • Align lifecycle calendars to class schedules, studio openings, and corporate events.
  • Monitor retention metrics and identify levers to improve LTV.
  • Build performance funnels and lead generation strategies for the corporate wellness and events division.
  • Partner with Sales on positioning and pipeline support.
  • Own measurement of B2B marketing spend and pipeline contribution.
