About The Position

Copia is seeking a Head of People to scale its people operations and culture. The company is a leader in operational technology (OT) backup & industrial code management software, serving large enterprise accounts and experiencing significant ARR growth. The Head of People will be responsible for building repeatable talent acquisition strategies, foundational systems, and a culture that supports the company's growth. This role reports to the Co-Founder & VP of BD/Ops and will partner with leadership across the organization. The ideal candidate is a builder, adept at tough conversations, hypothesis-driven, outcome-oriented, and grounded yet optimistic. The role involves supporting critical business outcomes by enabling a go-to-market talent engine and building people infrastructure for product and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading People teams
  • Experience partnering directly with founders and executive leadership
  • Demonstrated success in scaling Talent Acquisition at growth stage startups (~50 to 100+)
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing performance cycles, leveling/compensation frameworks, and compensation philosophies.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems such as Rippling and ATS such as Lever
  • Building AI workflows that improve personal productivity and team efficiency throughout all people functions
  • Exceptional communication skills for cross functional collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Build and enable a go-to-market talent engine for better hiring, onboarding, ramp, and talent management.
  • Build people infrastructure to help technical teams stay aligned to business outcomes, retain deep expertise, and strengthen the platform.
  • Bring next-level hiring practices to the organization, focusing on GTM and technical hiring engines.
  • Manage external recruiters, mature hiring processes, and set hiring outcomes.
  • Design people development systems, feedback loops, compensation, and culture touchpoints to foster retention.
  • Own and iterate on the performance review cycle, feedback loops, and compensation frameworks.
  • Champion Copia's core values and advise the executive team on cultural dynamics.
  • Drive operational excellence in payroll, benefits, and HR systems, implementing industry-leading tools.
