About The Position

Raisin is hiring a Head of Payment Operations to lead its U.S. payments function through an expansion phase. The role is accountable for timely, accurate, and secure movement of funds and reconciliation across the Raisin U.S. platform, while developing a multi-rail operational strategy and scalable infrastructure. The position combines strategic leadership and external partnership with hands-on operational oversight, including ledger entries, settlement breaks, dispute workflows, and network rules. The Head of Payment Operations will lead existing payment operations and design, launch, and manage workflows for new payment rails and products. This includes overseeing the payment lifecycle across transaction processing, multi-entity settlement, ledger reconciliation, exception resolution, and operational risk mitigation. The role works closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Data, Fraud, Risk, service and custodial banks, deposit-taking bank partners, network operators, issuer processors, and third-party fintech partners. The team is based in Raisin’s Sandy, Utah office and works in a hybrid model, with an expectation of two days per week in the office. Local candidates and candidates interested in relocating to the area are welcome.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership in payment operations, treasury operations, fintech, or digital banking.
  • Hands-on operational experience across multiple payment rails, including traditional banking rails such as ACH and Wires, as well as instant or real-time payments (RTP/FedNow), card issuing/processing, or BaaS money movement ecosystems.
  • Experience or sound understanding of BaaS structures, Card BIN sponsorship, card issuer processors, and payment orchestration layers.
  • Deep expertise in general ledger reconciliation, multi-bank settlement environments, and operational control frameworks.
  • Experience with process and control design, procedure writing, audit preparation and management, including a SOC audit program.
  • Track record of partnering with Product and Engineering to design, operationalize, and launch new payment products.
  • Ability to quickly learn new payment mechanisms and regulatory standards.
  • Able to move between high-level operational strategy and hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders and external bank partners.
  • Entrepreneurial, data-driven approach and interest in building scalable systems and improving operational resiliency.

  • Build and improve exception reporting and workflows to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly.
  • Partner with Engineering and Data teams to support accurate, resilient data pipelines, ledger systems, and bank interfaces.
  • Resolve reconciliation breaks with partner banks, the Service Bank, and the Custodial Bank, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational obligations.
