About The Position

FSBR is a family-owned organization with more than $900M in annual revenue and a long-standing reputation for operational excellence, customer service, and industry leadership. Through strong organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the company has built a dominant presence across multiple states and continues to invest in new opportunities that support long-term expansion. As part of its next phase of growth, the company is launching a dedicated Multifamily Division focused on flooring and interior finish solutions for 3-story, 5-story, and large-scale multifamily apartment developments throughout Texas and the Southern U.S. markets. This new division is expected to generate approximately $65M–$100M in annual revenue in its initial three-year period, creating a unique opportunity for an experienced operations leader to help build, scale, and shape the business from the ground up while leveraging the resources and stability of an established organization. The Director of Operations – Multifamily will serve as a key member of the leadership team responsible for building and scaling the company's multifamily platform across Texas and other growth markets. This role will provide operational leadership for field execution, installation teams, project delivery, labor management, customer relationships, and overall business performance. The Director will serve as a trusted partner to ownership and executive leadership while ensuring exceptional service delivery to customers and maintaining strong relationships with field personnel, subcontractors, and installation teams. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of operational leadership, field experience, team development, customer-facing skills, and the ability to effectively lead skilled trades professionals in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience within flooring, interiors, construction services, multifamily, building products, specialty contracting, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility throughout career.
  • Strong field operations background with direct experience managing installation, project execution, labor management, and customer-facing operations.
  • Proven success leading teams of skilled trades professionals, installers, subcontractors, warehouse personnel, and operational staff.
  • Experience overseeing operations across multiple geographic locations.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily construction, apartment development, renovation programs, or related project environments.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50–60% throughout Texas and other operating markets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multifamily apartment construction, build-to-rent, student housing, hospitality, or large-scale residential developments.
  • Experience leading operations within a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment.
  • Background in flooring, interior finishes, building materials, specialty trades, or installation services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for the multifamily division across multiple markets.
  • Develop scalable operational processes, procedures, and performance standards to support rapid growth.
  • Drive project execution, installation quality, schedule adherence, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Monitor key operational metrics, productivity, labor utilization, installation performance, and project margins.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute growth strategies for the division.
  • Provide direct leadership and oversight of field operations teams, installers, project managers, warehouse personnel, and operational support staff.
  • Establish strong relationships with skilled labor, subcontractors, installation crews, trim delivery teams, and trade partners.
  • Ensure projects are properly staffed and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Conduct regular site visits and field reviews to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, labor optimization, and operational efficiencies.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain high-performing operational teams.
  • Build a culture of accountability, safety, communication, and customer service.
  • Coach frontline leaders and supervisors to improve operational performance and leadership effectiveness.
  • Develop succession planning and workforce development initiatives as the division expands.
  • Serve as a senior operational point of contact for customers, developers, builders, and strategic partners.
  • Foster a customer-first culture focused on responsiveness, quality, communication, and problem resolution.
  • Partner with sales and business development teams to strengthen client relationships and support growth initiatives.
  • Ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded throughout project execution.
  • Manage divisional operational performance with accountability for revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, and operational KPIs.
  • Collaborate with finance and executive leadership on forecasting, budgeting, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
  • Support expansion into new markets and operational integration of future acquisitions.
