About The Position

The company is an early-stage startup building an AI coworker that works inside a team's existing tools, gathers context, and completes work across them. The Head of GTM will own how the product meets the market, from positioning and early customer acquisition through the development of a repeatable go-to-market engine. This is a founding, hands-on role working closely with the founder and founding engineers. The role includes defining and validating the ideal customer profile, testing pricing and packaging, building outbound and demand generation from scratch, landing design partners, and personally closing early revenue. The Head of GTM will bring customer feedback into product development, establish a simple GTM technology stack and key metrics, and eventually hire and lead the go-to-market team once the sales motion is proven. The position is remote-friendly anywhere in the US; overlap with Pacific time is preferred.

Requirements

  • Has taken a B2B product from zero or close to zero to its first paying customers and personally closed a meaningful share of those deals.
  • Has sold technical products such as AI, developer tools, APIs, or B2B SaaS to technical teams.
  • Can work with technical buyers, run product demonstrations, follow architecture discussions, and recognize when to involve an engineer.
  • Has owned positioning, ideal customer profile, and pricing work rather than only executing another person's plan.
  • Is a hands-on player-coach who can write emails, run calls, and build processes.
  • Uses AI tools in their daily work and can distinguish practical agent value from hype.
  • Can work from an ambiguous brief, make data-informed decisions, and demonstrate results in weeks rather than quarters.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain the product to skeptical buyers and pipeline to a founder.
  • Works well with autonomy, takes ownership, moves quickly, and contributes ideas.
  • Able to work remotely from anywhere in the US; Pacific-time overlap is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Was among the first go-to-market hires at a startup that later raised funding or scaled.
  • Experience selling AI agents, automation, or workflow tools.
  • Experience with product-led growth alongside a sales motion.
  • Has built a content or community engine that generated pipeline.
  • A network among engineering leaders, operations leaders, or startup founders.
  • Has hired and managed SDRs or AEs.

Responsibilities

  • Own product positioning and messaging, including defining the audience and problem the product solves.
  • Define and validate the ideal customer profile through customer conversations and data.
  • Run pricing and packaging experiments based on buyer behavior.
  • Build outbound from scratch, including lists, sequences, initial calls, and a handoff from founder-led sales.
  • Land design partners and convert them into paying customers, references, and sources of product feedback.
  • Personally close the first significant revenue.
  • Build a demand-generation and content engine through launches, writing, demos, and participation in buyer communities.
  • Work closely with the founder and founding engineers and relay customer feedback to the product team.
  • Set up a simple go-to-market technology stack and identify metrics to assess what is working.
  • Hire and lead the go-to-market team once the sales motion is proven.

Benefits

  • Founding seat with ownership of go-to-market and influence over how the company sells.
  • Founding equity.
  • Direct access to the founder and founding engineers, with no organizational layers in between.
  • Remote work anywhere in the US.
  • Tools needed to run go-to-market experiments.
  • A small, experienced team that trusts the employee to manage their own work.
  • Opportunity to build and lead the go-to-market team as the company grows.
  • Autonomy, trust, and support for professional growth.
