Head of Growth

Outro Health USA Inc.New York, NY
$150,000 - $220,000

About The Position

Outro is building the category leader in deprescribing, aiming to help millions of people safely discontinue psychiatric medications. The company has launched the first science-based antidepressant tapering program, co-founded by a leading expert in the field. Outro intends to become the go-to resource for getting off medications, similar to how Headspace and Calm revolutionized meditation. This role is for Outro's first growth hire, tasked with owning the customer growth number and transforming a proven part-time growth operation into a full-scale engine. The existing strategy leverages multi-channel content, the team's credibility for distribution, and a highly engaged community. The Head of Growth will be responsible for operating, expanding, and refining this engine based on data and patient feedback. The focus is on building a high-leverage system for audience building, conversion, and resonance, rather than solely on paid advertising.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of owning a growth number, with a deep understanding of CAC, funnel optimization, and payback periods.
  • Experience as an AI-native content operator capable of building and scaling a content engine.
  • Ability to translate customer insights and data into actionable strategy and iterate plans accordingly.
  • A genuine passion for the mission of transforming mental healthcare and helping individuals overcome pharmaceutical dependence.
  • Willingness to be a player-coach, building the growth machine hands-on with a lean team.
  • Strong brand literacy and taste, with the ability to translate brand narratives into effective content that builds trust and drives conversion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or another regulated, stigmatized, high-trust category.
  • Deep expertise in lifecycle marketing, including email/SMS, segmentation, and re-engagement flows.
  • Experience in category creation or movement building.

Responsibilities

  • Own the customer acquisition and revenue growth numbers, ensuring high-quality unit economics.
  • Operate and scale a multi-channel content strategy across social media (Meta, X), Substack, YouTube, and other relevant platforms to create demand and grow thought leaders.
  • Drive SEO and organic discovery through search-intent capture and answer-engine optimization, adapting to the evolving landscape of LLMs.
  • Manage the customer lifecycle, including nurturing and re-engagement campaigns via email and SMS, tailored to a short consideration window.
  • Collaborate with a communications contractor to build press and podcast presence, and develop a network of clinical thought leaders for both patients and referring clinicians.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive measurement system for the entire funnel, from initial attention to retention, focusing on qualified demand rather than vanity metrics.
  • Orchestrate external partners, including contractors and agencies, for performance marketing, PR, podcasts, and brand support.

Benefits

  • Salary: $150,000 - $220,000, based on experience
  • Early-Stage Equity: 0.25 - 1%
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Time Off: 20 days paid vacation + holidays
