Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in risk management, with significant exposure across multiple risk disciplines (financial, operational, cyber, or regulatory)
  • Demonstrated experience synthesizing risk intelligence across organizational silos into enterprise-level views
  • Hands-on experience with quantitative risk methodologies
  • Demonstrated familiarity with cyber and technology risk frameworks — including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and DORA
  • Prior experience in financial services, capital markets, or fintech strongly preferred
  • Experience presenting to and engaging with senior management
  • Exceptional ability to distill complexity into clear, executive-ready communication
  • Experience setting team priorities, managing workloads across concurrent initiatives, and maintaining quality of output
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain senior risk professionals
  • Strong analytical judgment; able to distinguish signal from noise across a high volume of risk inputs
  • Deep understanding of risk governance structures, including Three Lines of Defense models
  • Familiarity with emerging risk domains including AI/technology risk, third-party risk, and data risk
  • Ability to influence without authority across senior, domain-expert stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise risk management framework, taxonomy, and methodology
  • Establish enterprise-level risk appetite statements and risk -tolerance thresholds aligned with business strategy and regulatory requirements
  • Drive consistent risk assessment standards and reporting protocols across domain teams, with sensitivity to the pace of product and technology change in a fintech environment
  • Aggregate risk intelligence across Technology, Cyber, Data, Financial, Operational, and Regulatory risk domains into a consolidated enterprise risk picture
  • Identify risk interdependencies, correlations, and concentration risks that span domain boundaries
  • Maintain and evolve the enterprise risk register, ensuring material risks are accurately captured, prioritized, and tracked
  • Translate complex, cross-domain risk intelligence into clear, decision-useful narratives for senior non-specialist audiences
  • Lead horizon scanning for macro, geopolitical, regulatory, and technology-driven risks that may not yet be on domain team radars
  • Translate external risk signals into actionable intelligence for internal stakeholders
  • Support the design and delivery of enterprise risk reporting to senior management
  • Serve as the primary integration point between domain risk teams, ensuring alignment and eliminating blind spots
  • Partner with other risk teams to embed risk considerations into strategic planning and major initiatives
  • Support the CRO in preparing materials for regulatory engagement and internal governance forums
