About The Position

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. This role is an in‑office position based at our Head Office location (97 Front St W). As a Director, Enterprise Risk Management, you will be accountable for the leadership and delivery of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) processes and programs across all business units, and will play a critical role in designing and driving strategic risk programs. You will ensure sound risk governance principles are developed at all levels of the organization, and will be a trusted advisor to our Senior Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • Completion of a degree in engineering/business administration/data analytics or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Completion of post-secondary risk management training/program and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced with developing and leading enterprise risk management programs.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA will be considered an asset.
  • Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive in leading the design of policies, standards and process to execute the overall strategy, while serving as a centre of excellence and subject matter expert to streamline and optimize those processes across all enterprise pillars.
  • Lead and oversee a team of risk management specialists.
  • Design, advance and oversee corporate risk management governance and programs.
  • Provide strategic advice, specialized functional knowledge, and lead interactions with senior leaders on risk identification, assessment, response, monitoring and reporting on known and emerging risks.
  • Ensure appropriate governance processes are in place, advise senior leadership on gaps in risk governance, and develop action plans to remediate.
  • Consult, collaborate, and build strong partnerships with key partners to support and promote a strong risk management culture.
  • Ensure corporate compliance with OPS ERM policy and framework through policy review, design, and approval at the Senior Management and Board level.
  • Accountable to ensure that program objectives are delivered on time and within budget, and that anticipated business results are achieved.
