We are currently looking for a Director, Enterprise & Financial Risk Management. The Director will lead a five-member team. This role will report into the CRO and will be responsible for leading the enterprise and financial risk oversight program for the Bank.

Requirements

  • University degree in a quantitative field, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science
  • 10+ years working in the retail financial industry, credit risk management, data analysis / financial modeling / model validation in OSFI regulated bank.
  • Knowledge of credit scoring and risk assessment as well as portfolio management
  • Excellent analytical, storytelling, problem-solving and presentation skills.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset, critical thinking and sound decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with multiple stakeholders and garner consensus
  • Proficient with statistical analysis and data science software (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python)
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Execute on strategic risk initiatives - Annual Enterprise Risk Assessment, Risk Appetite and Limit Setting, Stress Testing and ICAAP.
  • Lead and facilitate the discussions in ERM committee
  • Maintain the Model Risk Management (MRM) program - model inventory management, model lifecycle management and independent validation of material models.
  • Conduct independent assessments of credit risk acquisition and limit management strategies.
  • Maintain oversight over key risks and controls related liquidity, capital, interest rate risk and securitization activities.
  • Maintain and enhance analytical capabilities - including internal risk models and dashboards
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management in matters relating to financial risks such as loan loss provisioning, capital and liquidity risk management and reporting.
  • Prepare Board materials including quarterly risk dashboards and update on emerging risks
  • Provide thought leadership to both internal and external stakeholders.
