Head of Data Partnerships

Alloy.ai•Denver, CO

About The Position

Alloy.ai is hiring its first dedicated Head of Data Partnerships to build and run a partner-led business. This is a sales-first role focused on making partners successful at selling Alloy.ai data to their customers, rather than selling directly to brands. The role owns the business end-to-end, including strategy, pipeline, deal structure, contracts, partner enablement, and the product and operating changes needed to support the channel. The position reports to the CEO and works closely with Product, Engineering, Implementation, Marketing, and Finance. The role involves sourcing and closing partners, enabling their sales teams, setting and reviewing partner goals, and helping early partner deals succeed. It also owns the repeatable activation process, channel strategy, pricing and packaging, partner and end-user agreements, and operating rules for data use, compliance, support, and coordination with direct sales. Success is measured by partner-sourced ARR, time to activation, retention, and partner productivity.

Requirements

  • 2 to 6 years of experience.
  • Commercial experience winning business, such as startup business development or partnerships, a revenue-oriented GM or business operations role, or founding a company.
  • A track record of personally sourcing and closing deals or partnerships.
  • Experience building something from zero, such as a business line, program, market entry, or company.
  • Experience negotiating contracts with substantive terms such as revenue share, data rights, exclusivity, or usage limits, and ability to build the related pricing model.
  • Comfort with data and technical concepts, including learning what a POS feed contains and what a data share into Snowflake involves well enough to scope work with engineers.
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally without formal authority, working with Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Finance.
  • Clear writing skills for partners and internal technical and finance teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in consulting, strategy, or another analytical role.
  • Experience building or running a partner, channel, or reseller program, or negotiating data licensing agreements.
  • Startup experience.
  • Experience in CPG or retail data, or at a platform serving consumer brands.

Responsibilities

  • Triage inbound partner opportunities and pursue outbound prospects, building target lists, engaging partner leadership, and closing new partners.
  • Develop partner relationships and secure introductions to consumer packaged goods companies.
  • Train partner sales teams and provide pitch and pricing tools; support early deals and coordinate co-marketing with the Marketing team.
  • Set partner goals for sourced customers and revenue, review progress regularly, and prioritize partners that produce results.
  • Work with Implementation to help partner customers move quickly from signed agreements to live data, including collecting credentials, establishing data flows, and enabling partner support.
  • Create and refine documentation describing best practices for quickly activating partners.
  • Identify product and engineering gaps that limit partner volume and provide business cases for prioritization against the direct roadmap.
  • Choose target partner segments and own channel pricing and packaging, including partner margin, historical data, location-level access, and when a partner's customer should move to a direct relationship.
  • Standardize partner agreements, order forms, and end-user terms to accelerate partner signing.
  • Define rules for permitted data use, Alloy.ai's metric accountability, retailer compliance, support responsibilities, and engagement with the direct sales team.
  • Manage the business using partner-sourced ARR, time to activation, retention, and partner productivity metrics.
