About The Position

Village Christian School is seeking a Head Middle School Football Coach to organize and lead the middle school football program under the direction of the Varsity Head Football Coach. This role involves conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques. The coach will also be responsible for assessing player skills, determining game strategy, supervising athletes, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures. Additionally, the coach will model positive sportsmanship, distribute equipment, maintain records, and promote non-discriminatory practices. The position requires a commitment to the school's mission and Christian values.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma degree is required.
  • Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Possess knowledge in the sport, including, but not limited to strategy, skill building, practice and game planning.
  • Communicate effectively and positively with students, parents, and other coaches.
  • Work cooperatively with others as part of a team.
  • Ability to exemplify high Christian ideals in a spirit of cooperativeness with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing the middle school football program.
  • Conducting practices.
  • Motivating students.
  • Instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques.
  • Assessing player skills.
  • Monitoring players during competition and practice.
  • Determining game strategy.
  • Supervising athletes during practices and competition.
  • Following established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
  • Modeling positive sportsmanship and maintaining appropriate conduct.
  • Distributing equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.
  • Performing support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records.
  • Modeling nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, Principal, or other appropriate administrator.
