Head Coach - Varsity Girls Basketball
About The Position
The State College Area School District is seeking candidates to fill our High School Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach position. The Head Coach is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to student-athletes and assistant coaches as well as providing an overall vision for the program, inclusive of grades and teams 7-12. We are seeking positive, passionate, enthusiastic individuals who will not only instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training, but also guide and mentor them to be driven and responsible student-athletes and citizens.
Requirements
- Specific safety and coaching training as required by the PA Dept. of Education and PIAA.

Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and guidance to student-athletes and assistant coaches.
- Providing an overall vision for the program, inclusive of grades and teams 7-12.
- Instructing student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training.
- Guiding and mentoring student-athletes to be driven and responsible student-athletes and citizens.
- Scheduling off-season workouts and programming.
- Scheduling in-season practice schedules.
- Scheduling game schedules.
- Coordination of transportation.
- Communication with players and families.
- Regular communication with the athletic department.
- Ensuring compliance with PA Dept. of Education and PIAA safety and coaching training requirements.
