About The Position

We are hiring immediately for HEAD CAMP COOK positions. This role involves working in a small remote Alaska camp where you will play a vital role by preparing fresh, home-style meals and maintaining clean, comfortable living spaces for camp residents. You will prepare and serve freshly cooked meals for a small group of residents while managing kitchen operations, food safety, inventory, and meal planning. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, restrooms, and common areas to provide a comfortable home-away-from-home for residents. The schedule is a 4-weeks-on/4-weeks-off rotation in a remote Alaska camp. The point of hire is Anchorage, Alaska, and employees are responsible for arranging and covering their transportation from home to Anchorage before company-provided travel to the remote work site. Requirements

  • Previous remote camp experience a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food to ensure it is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local and company standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.
  • Prepares various entrees and menu items following established recipes.
  • Operates and cleans equipment after each use. Performs scheduled routine cleaning.
  • Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy. Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
  • Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
  • Assists Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and completes all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
  • Assists in the cross training of employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, restrooms, and common areas to provide a comfortable home-away-from-home for residents.
