About The Position

Out of School Time (OST) is a state-funded after-school/extended-day program. Supervision will be provided by the School Principal as well as the District Program Director. OST funds academic support (especially in the areas of math, reading, and science) along with homework assistance, as well as arts and cultural enrichment opportunities for students. Candidates should be willing to assume a supervisory position and become knowledgeable of federal, state, and District guidelines related to the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) program.

Requirements

  • Valid NM Teaching License (Elementary or Secondary, depending on assigned school site) OR School Counselor License
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office/web based applications) are required
  • Ability to teach virtually if required
  • Willingness to participate in training and professional development with District Program Director as mandated by the grant.
  • Understanding and embracing the concept of accountability in meeting the deliverables by the deadlines for the NM Public Education Department.
  • Good interpersonal skills with students
  • Willingness to work closely with families.

  • Knowledgeable in best practices, Common Core State Standards, and NM state priority standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Implementation of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) curriculum.
  • Take an active role in developing the academic and personal strengths of students enrolled in the after-school program.
  • Serve as an instructional role model/mentor to teachers and educational paraprofessionals staffing the program.
  • Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for students enrolled in the program.
  • Supervise staff to ensure accurate records are maintained, including attendance and grades.
  • Communicate frequently and honestly with the Principal and District Program Director regarding student progress and areas of concern.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
