About The Position

This position is responsible for entry-level, non-skilled general labor hatchery tasks while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a start time between 4:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (times may vary). The starting pay is $17.15/hr.

Requirements

  • Must be able and willing to learn safe, efficient operation of hatchery machinery.
  • Must be willing and able to fix minor issues with hatchery machinery.
  • Must be willing and able to clean hatchery machinery.
  • Must be willing and able to load/remove baskets and trays weighing 10 lbs. to 15 lbs. from machines.
  • Must be willing and able to bend and lift a minimum of 30 lbs. from 6” high to 5’6” high repetitively.
  • Must be willing and able to push/pull buggies of eggs weighing up to 500 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to cull non-viable chicks from viable chicks.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and willing to work most holidays.
  • Must be willing to rotate jobs.
  • Must be willing to stand/walk on concrete floors 4 to 5 days per week, 8 to 10 hours per day.
  • Must be willing to work 6 days per week if needed.
  • Must be willing to climb ladders/stairs.
  • Must be willing to work in extreme hot/cold environments.
  • Must be willing and able to tolerate chick down and the smell of rotten eggs.
  • Must be willing to work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be willing to follow all Hatchery Safety rules/regulations.
  • Must be willing to follow all Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Must be willing to wear appropriate PPE as required.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • All applicants must complete the final task that is separate from the application.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
