About The Position

This is a fast-paced, physical position in which a Team Member will pick up, deliver, and inspect eggs to determine quality and fitness for incubation. The role involves cleaning, sanitizing, and storing eggs under controlled conditions in an egg facility. Applicants must have no disciplinary actions within the last 6 months and a point level of less than or equal to 6 attendance points. If promoting, less than 6 months in the current area is allowable.

Requirements

Must have no disciplinary actions within the last 6 months.
Must have a point level less than or equal to 6 attendance points.
Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Must use safe lifting techniques.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds repetitively (e.g., tray of eggs).
Must occasionally move items such as a wheeled buggy up to 500 pounds.
Must be able to stand majority of shift on a concrete floor.
Must be able to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to balance.
Must be able to perform climbing/ladder usage.
Must be able to stoop/bend over occasionally.
Must be able to talk or hear.
Must be able to drive a vehicle within the farm complex.
Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle repeatedly.
Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, and Personal Protective Equipment.
Identify, address, and mitigate safety-related risks.

Responsibilities

Pick up and deliver eggs from chicken houses to the egg facility.
Set up and test the egg sanitizer prior to each egg pull; properly perform egg inventory practices and record egg pull inventory.
Observe eggs moving on conveyors through sanitizers; observe shell color/texture and external characteristics such as streaks, shadings, discolorations, and cracks.
Place hatching eggs on buggies and in boxes and properly label both internal and external orders.
Perform sanitation activities: operate and clean egg sanitizer; remove waste (egg shells, feathers, feces, etc.); clean and sanitize egg room, connecting areas, crates and flats, and vehicles; fumigation of rooms.
Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities such as: preventative maintenance; place broken, dirty, or other substandard eggs in a container for disposal; monitor, control, and record proper room temperatures and humidity controls; dispense formaldehyde per schedule; properly euthanize weak, ill, or injured birds in accordance with company policy.
