About The Position

This position is responsible for processing chicks, cleaning/sanitizing of the processing areas, cleaning/sanitizing of chick boxes and equipment by performing all essential duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have at least six consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months with the last 36 months.
  • If applicant was laid-off, providing eldercare or childcare, the six month gap will be increased to 18 months.
  • Previous work history criteria will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.
  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility.
  • No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must regularly lift and stack chick boxes (wheeled dolly) weighing up to 12 pounds and will occasionally be required to push or pull stacks of chicks weighing up 125 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk majority of shift (concrete floor); sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
  • TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • TM is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transfers and grades chicks.
  • Operate robot to vaccinate, beak trim birds per customer order.
  • Operates high pressure hose to wash down and sanitize rooms and equipment.
  • Stack and move boxes of processed chicks.
  • Packing eggs as needed, maintains a clean and organized work area, Operating box wash machine and dumping of eggs.
