About The Position

JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery is seeking a Harvest Scale House Weighmaster for the 2026 harvest, which runs from August through November. This role is crucial to the Production team, ensuring accurate weighing and processing of grape trucks and tankers. The Weighmaster collaborates with Production, Cellar, and Grower Relations teams to facilitate smooth harvest operations. During slower harvest periods, this position will provide administrative support for cellar tasks using the winery's ERP system, focusing on recordkeeping and data accuracy. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, self-motivated, hardworking, and detail-oriented. This is a full-time position located at our Paso Robles production facility.

Requirements

  • Some knowledge of the wine industry, winery operations or agriculture would be helpful.
  • Flexible and willing to work varying shifts, overtime, and weekends.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic math and auditing skills.
  • Comfortable with learning new computer programs.
  • Possess a positive attitude; strong communication skills, detail-oriented and comfortable working alone as well as communicating with others.
  • Self-motivated and willing to reach out when unsure of the procedure.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Weighmaster certification training will be provided by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Daily opening of the scale house and ensuring the winery is ready to receive grape trucks and tankers.
  • Accurately weigh grape trucks and tankers in and out of the winery.
  • Move between multiple scale locations as needed to support receiving operations and ensure timely processing of loads.
  • Enter grape truck details and weigh tag data into the software system, performing self-audits for accuracy.
  • Communicate load information via radio to cellar personnel and winemakers.
  • Keep grower relations personnel informed of trucks received and late trucks.
  • Assist with managing winery logistics and the flow of harvest traffic.
  • Assist with macrobin logistics, including shipping clean bins out and managing macrobin inventory for future loads.
  • Provide cellar administrative support during downtime, including ERP data entry for wine movements, harvest lots, and production records.
  • Support cellar and production teams with system updates and documentation.
  • Understand and comply with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations.
