About The Position
The Harvest Room Labor position involves hanging live birds into shackles. This role is located after the cage dumper and is the first chain-driven operation. The live hanger removes a bird from the hanging belt by grasping each leg, positions it with the breast side away from the hanger, and then hangs the bird by both legs into a shackle. The hang rate varies by bird weight, and all live hangers will rotate positions from front to back. Hangers will place any DOAs (Dead on Arrival) into the DOA barrel at the end of the conveyor. Prior employees have a 181-day waiting period before reapplying and can have worked at Tyson no more than three times. This is a full-time, first-shift position.
