About The Position
The Harvest Room Labor position involves hanging live birds in a shackle. Located after the cage dumper, this is the first chain-driven operation. The live hanger removes a bird from the hanging belt by grasping it by both legs. Once positioned, breast side away from the hanger, they will hang the bird by both legs into a shackle. The hang rate varies by bird weight. All live hangers will rotate positions from front to back. Hangers will place any DOAs (Dead on Arrival) into the DOA barrel at the end of the conveyor. This is a full-time position on the 2nd shift.
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Hangs live birds in a shackle.
- Removes a bird from the hanging belt, grasping it by both legs.
- Positions the bird breast side away from the hanger and hangs it by both legs into a shackle.
- Places any DOAs into the DOA barrel at the end of the conveyor.
- Rotates positions from front to back.
