About The Position

You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. This internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in designing industrial automation hardware schematics, creating layouts, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project execution. You will also be involved in documentation, quality verification, troubleshooting, and supporting industrial networking systems, with potential for travel to customer sites for startup and commissioning activities.

Requirements

Currently pursuing an education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other disciplines.
Ability to work in our Eagan, MN location 5 days/week.
Ability to report progress daily to the leadership team, to ensure intern tasks and projects are completed on time.
Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
Willing to work on some out-of-town projects.

Responsibilities

Assisting in designing industrial automation hardware schematics that meet customer requirements.
Create hardware layouts, wiring drawings, and bills of materials.
Collaborate with software, controls, manufacturing, and panel shop teams to ensure successful project execution and production handoff.
Develop and execute hardware documentation and quality verification processes prior to production release.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues during development, manufacturing, and startup phases.
Ensure hardware designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements, including UL508A standards.
Support the implementation of industrial networking and communication systems.
Support occasional startup and commissioning activities at customer sites.
Other duties as assigned.
