Emerson's Process Systems and Solutions business is seeking a Hardware Design Intern for Summer 2027. This role involves designing the physical hardware for automation products used in the energy and manufacturing industries. The intern will join a hardware design team working on controllers, I/O, and field devices for DeltaV, Emerson's flagship distributed process control system. The internship offers hands-on experience in a collaborative and innovative environment, with potential projects including PCB schematic capture, component placement, board layout, FPGA design and verification, circuit simulation and analysis, and mechanical design work such as enclosures and thermal management. No prior industrial automation experience is required, as the company will provide training. This internship is designed as an introduction to professional product design for individuals with a general electrical or mechanical engineering background.
