At Supermicro We are seeking a talented and motivated Hardware Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this collaborative role, you will contribute to technology innovation and play a key part in the development of our in-house server motherboards. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners to ensure robust, high-quality board designs throughout the product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-driven, and passionate about developing reliable, high-performance server hardware. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in hardware design, PCB design, server platforms, or related electronic product development.
  • Ability to provide timely customer support and travel as required for business needs.
  • Strong understanding of Intel PC/server architecture and Windows/Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills; proficiency in English is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a self-motivated, team-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of digital, analog, and power circuit design, PCB layout, and signal integrity.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other laboratory test equipment.
  • Experience with Linux shell scripting and automated testing.

  • Master's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely customer support and travel as required to meet business needs.
  • Create clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including product specifications, user guidelines, test procedures, and other engineering documents.
  • Develop schematics, review PCB layouts, generate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Perform debugging and testing for backplanes, add-in cards, and server boards.
  • Conduct Design Verification Testing (DVT) using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other laboratory test equipment.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with internal teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Troubleshoot, and resolve design-related quality issues during the early stages of product development.
  • Support product transition to manufacturing by preparing complete production documentation and providing technical assistance to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
