About The Position

Planned Companies is hiring a Temporary Handy Porter for a six-month assignment in Brooklyn, New York. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and pays $27.00 per hour.

The Handy Porter helps maintain clean, healthy, and safe residential and commercial properties for tenants, guests, and vendors. The position includes common-area and bathroom cleaning, light handyman duties, and light painting. The employee is expected to be polite, respectful, thorough, and observant, and to provide a high level of service.

Full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and other ancillary benefits. All full-time and part-time employees may participate in the company 401(k) plan with an employer match. Requirements

• Be willing to stand for extended periods.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Have experience in similar roles using cleaning products and equipment to clean floors and carpets.
• Be able to work both on a team and independently as needed.
• Have strong report-writing and clear verbal communication skills.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors of various types.
• Strip, buff, and wax floors of various types.
• Dust ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
• Scrub and sanitize bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
• Empty trash cans and wash and dry windows.
• Request cleaning supply orders and report breakages and needed repairs.
• Assist building management with projects and other duties as requested.
• Perform light handyman duties.
• Perform light painting.
