About The Position

The Merchandiser works independently in assigned retail stores to showcase organizational and time-management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. The role collaborates with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory, and may support colleagues with seasonal resets and installations. On occasion, the merchandiser may work with other companies’ products in the stores served. The position involves servicing Hallmark departments in grocery, drug, department, and mass-retail stores. Core work includes restocking, organizing, and monitoring Hallmark products, maintaining the entire Hallmark display at assigned stores, and using a Hallmark-provided mobile device for work tasks and communications, including reporting time, providing feedback, and completing activity surveys. Professional, courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is important. The schedule is part-time and variable during the work week, averaging 5–15 hours per week. Seasonal demand may bring additional workdays and extended hours before and after major holidays. The role may require working on certain holidays, including weekends, and supporting season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory work. Department reset assignments may involve building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; remodel assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may occur in the evening or on weekends. This is a physically demanding role involving work on sales floors and in back stockrooms. Employees must regularly push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the workday. Climbing stairs and step ladders may also be required.
