As an Associate, you will help to provide H&W clients a different perspective based on data-driven solutions. Consulting engagements can involve a variety of topics including but not limited to plan design, compliance and reporting services, pricing and employee contribution settings, or retiree health care solutions. You will support H&W Workplace Consulting projects, work with other associates and promote teamwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Health or other quantitative subject major preferred
  • Internship experience
  • Having passed at least one Society of Actuaries exam
  • Courses in business, accounting, finance, or economics is a plus
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet and database programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Committed to constant self-improvement and exhibit a competitive drive
  • Comfortable asking for help
  • Resourceful, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
  • High aptitude to learn new things quickly and adapt to new situations
  • Pursuing actuarial credentials

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and preparing data necessary to analyze benefit programs
  • Maintaining organized storage of client documentation (e.g., SPDs, contracts, employee communication)
  • Assisting in the development of health and welfare program pricing, reserving, budgets, employee contributions and premium equivalent rates for self-insured plans
  • Assisting in the negotiation of rates, contractual provisions and performance guarantees with current benefit vendors
  • Performing marketing analysis including RFP creation, proposal collection, and vendor comparisons; Assisting with vendor selection, performance criteria, pricing negotiations and contractual provisions
