About The Position

Provide gymnastics instruction to children of all ages and abilities with a fun, upbeat attitude while promoting a safe and exciting learning environment. The role involves delivering recreational class curriculum, supervising and spotting participants using gymnastics apparatus, and maintaining a safe, clean facility. The instructor also communicates with parents, completes attendance and class paperwork, participates in staff meetings and training, and supports an inclusive and equitable environment.

Requirements

Have a cheerful, energetic, caring demeanor with children.
Be punctual and reliable, arriving with appropriate preparation time before scheduled classes.
Possess basic reading, math, writing, communication, and problem-solving skills equivalent to a high school level.
Complete provided concussion training and basic first aid.
Attend evening and weekend practices and events.
Frequently lift 20 pounds or more, approximately 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

Present program curriculum in an energetic, cheerful tone to maintain a positive environment for participants.
Greet participants at the start of each class and be available to communicate with parents following class.
Follow appropriate safety procedures and provided lesson plans for recreational classes.
Set up and clean up class stations.
Direct and manage participants in an educational, safe learning environment.
Monitor and spot athletes using various apparatus, intervening to correct technique when necessary.
Organize and put away gym equipment to help maintain facility cleanliness.
Attend staff meetings, complete training, and provide programming input and feedback to the Supervisor.
Complete participant attendance, handout assessments and paperwork, and finalize timesheets on time.
Perform various tasks requested by the Supervisor and other job-related duties as assigned.
